SENIOR SECURITY CONSULTANT (Northern Virginia, Washington DC., / Columbia, MD., area)
Company Products: Data Security software and hardware products, Anti-Malware, Anti-virus, Intrusion Detection, Intrusion Prevention, etc...

Job Description
The Security Consultants main role is to support end-users through the successful implementation of our products. Installation, tuning, one-on-one and group training, report and policy development will be part of the consultant's day-to-day tasks.
The core responsibilities of the Security Consultant are:
  • Delivering professional service engagement to a large Federal customer
  • Documentation of work performed - weekly, monthly, and yearly auditing
  • Becoming Subject Matter Expert for our products.  Providing the customer a technical leader.
  • Delivering Services to multiple sub organizations within the Federal domain, including, but not limited to:
  • Large scale government IDS/IPS Architecture understanding in the range of 300,000 nodes
  • Leveraging enterprise Administration and Management Skills of a global Security Operations Center
  • Snort Rule Writing expertise
  • Snort/IDS/IPS Enterprise Process Expertise preferred
  • Security Analysis Skills at the Expert level
  • Vulnerability Assessment understanding
Required Skills
  • Experience consulting or working with customers
  • Highly proficient in Linux/Unix - Scripting a plus
  • Highly proficient in TCP/IP networking.
  • Knowledgeable in network security and skilled in security technologies
  • Knowledgeable in Snort and IDS/IPS
  • Ability to travel approximately 60-75% annually: locally in Northern Virginia, Washington DC with a large Federal cllient & Maryland as well as out of state.
 Required Experience
  • 7 years minimum experience working in a technical capacity with networking and network security products. Experience must include hands on knowledge of IDS systems (Snort experience preferred) and experience creating and tuning IDS and IPS policy.
  • Experience consulting with outside clients and end users -- experience integrating/implementing network security products is a must
  • Security Clearance at the Top Secret Level is a plus
